David is a director and a writer based in Sydney, Australia. He graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from the National Institute of Dramatic Art and holds a Bachelor of Digital Media (majoring in Film Production) from the College of Fine Arts, UNSW. As a director David has made a number of shorts, music videos and a heap of advertorial content, including multiple nationally aired television campaigns. His films have been presented at film festivals globally - most recently with Granny which was selected to screen at 10+ festivals around the world including Fantasia Film Festival (Montreal), Dances with Films (Los Angeles) and Sydney Underground Film Festival (Sydney) where it received the Festival Choice Award. His newest short, Bug, is currently in post production and scheduled to be completed in mid-2022. At Lightbulbhead, David is currently developing his first feature, The Old Gods.
David is a proud director of colour who believes in the power of representation and diversifying the stories we tell.
David is the co-director + founder of LIGHTBULBHEAD and is the resident director at ACUITY.
